Anne’s work has appeared in numerous literary magazines and anthologies. The first story in WHAT YOU LONG FOR, “Washing Helen’s Hair,” appeared in the Grammy-nominated anthology, Grow Old Along With Me. Her poetry has appeared in the online zine, Poetry Southeast and was recently published in Mourning Sickness, an anthology. Her short stories have appeared in the Antietam Review and online at the Bare Root Review. Book reviews and articles appear in Our State Magazine and Main Street Rag and an essay has been published in another anthology, A Quiet Corner.
Her stories have won several awards, including the Porter Fleming Fiction Award from the Augusta, Georgia Arts Council. Anne publishes nonfiction with a variety of newspapers and magazines and also teaches writing and creativity workshops. Barnhill holds an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from UNC-Wilmington and is currently at work on a novel set in Tudor England.
