Anne’s work has appeared in numer­ous lit­er­ary mag­a­zines and antholo­gies. The first story in WHAT YOU LONG FOR, “Wash­ing Helen’s Hair,” appeared in the Grammy-nominated anthol­ogy, Grow Old Along With Me. Her poetry has appeared in the online zine, Poetry South­east and was recently pub­lished in Mourn­ing Sick­ness, an anthol­ogy. Her short sto­ries have appeared in the Anti­etam Review and online at the Bare Root Review. Book reviews and arti­cles appear in Our State Mag­a­zine and Main Street Rag and an essay has been pub­lished in another anthol­ogy, A Quiet Cor­ner.

Her sto­ries have won sev­eral awards, includ­ing the Porter Flem­ing Fic­tion Award from the Augusta, Geor­gia Arts Coun­cil. Anne pub­lishes non­fic­tion with a vari­ety of news­pa­pers and mag­a­zines and also teaches writ­ing and cre­ativ­ity work­shops. Barn­hill holds an M.F.A. in Cre­ative Writ­ing from UNC-Wilmington and is cur­rently at work on a novel set in Tudor England.
